About ToolVersus
I've spent too many hours down the Amazon rabbit hole, comparing specs across ten browser tabs, trying to figure out whether the DeWalt or the Milwaukee was actually the better pick for what I needed.
Every "review" site seemed to copy the same manufacturer descriptions. Nobody was putting the specs side by side and saying "here's the difference that actually matters." So I built ToolVersus to do exactly that.
How We Compare Tools
Every comparison on this site uses real product specifications — torque, RPM, weight, battery life, the things that actually affect how a tool performs in your hands. We pull pricing directly from Amazon and ratings from verified buyers.
Our "Our Pick" recommendation is based on a simple formula: rating × review count weighting, adjusted for price-to-performance ratio. We don't take money from tool brands to feature their products. The data drives the recommendation, not the other way around.
Who's Behind This
ToolVersus is run by a small team of homeowners, DIYers, and one former contractor who got tired of marketing BS. We buy tools. We use tools. We break tools. And we write about what we learn.
